FLYING COOK RACHEL GREEN TO STAR AT PEAK FAIR
Rachel, well-known for the Yorkshire TV series The Flying Cook and World on a Plate, will demonstrate her down-to-earth approach to food preparation and cooking at the Great Peak District Fair at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, Derbyshire on Sunday October 28.
The Lincolnshire-born chef who makes regular appearances at Chatsworth Farm Shop and the Derbyshire Food and Drink Fair at Bolsover Castle will join a distinguished line-up of local chefs in the Fair demonstration kitchen.
Others will include Max Fischer of Michelin-starred Fischers of Baslow Hall, James Grant of Rowleys in Baslow and Ralph Skripek of The Butlers Pantry in Littleover, Derby.
The Great Peak District Fair and Food Fest Week will promote the environmental, economic and ethical benefits of supporting local producers and businesses in Buxton and throughout the area from October 27 to November 4.
The celebrations will get off to a mouthwatering start at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton, on Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28, when more than 100 exhibitors will be selling their wholesome produce and creative work at the Great Peak District Fair.

Members of the Buxton Wells Dressing Committee will give a fascinating insight into the skills and expertise that go into one of Derbyshires oldest and best-known traditions, and there will also be live music on the bandstand, from Burbage Band on the Saturday and Fairfield Band on the Sunday.
Anyone concerned about mans impact on the environment will appreciate the climate change bus highlighting the work of the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Local Authorities Energy Partnership during Energy Saving Week.
The bus, along with energy-saving ideas for the home in a display by the High Peak Borough Council-hosted Energy Efficiency Advice Centre, will offer advice and incentives, such as free energy-saving light bulbs, on the Promenade.
Admission to the fair, which will be open from 10am to 4pm on both days, will be £1 for adults, with children admitted free. Tickets will also be on sale in advance at Buxton Tourist Information Centre, The Crescent.
Everyone who buys an admission ticket will have the chance to enter a free prize draw to win a food hamper donated by Peak District Foods or a Buxton hamper containing souvenirs donated by High Peak Borough Council, compiled by Buxton Tourist Information Centre.
Meanwhile, restaurants, cafes, pubs, tearooms and shops across the Peak District are preparing a tastebud-tingling menu of special events celebrating local foods during the third Great Peak Food Fest Week.
Everything from gourmet menus to guided walks will feature in a packed programme designed to encourage both local people and visitors to enjoy an authentic taste of local produce.
Over the years, both the Great Peak District Fair and Great Peak Food Fest Week have made much progress in persuading people that supporting local producers and businesses is in everyones interest environmentally, economically and ethically, said patron Sue Prince OBE.
Last years Great Peak District Fair attracted around 12,000 visitors, and the Great Peak Food Fest Week was also well supported, proving that there is a demand for a high quality shopping and dining experience in the unique and increasingly popular setting of the Peak District.
I am delighted that Rachel Green is able to join us this year, during an event that Im sure will prove equally successful in attracting both local people and visitors from further afield to sample the very best of the excellent food, drink, arts and crafts the area has to offer.
